JOB OVERVIEW:
The Financial Disbursement Manager is responsible for overseeing project teams dedicated to financial management and fund disbursement activities. These include processes, procedures, payment, reconciliation, and reporting for various projects related to private funds, Qualified Settlement Funds (QSF), and funds issued by federal, state, and local governments. This position will execute, maintain, review, and report on relevant financial transactions, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and program requirements.

What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or other related field is required

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience is required.

Ability to professionally and appropriately communicate and manage a diverse group of individuals and program teams.

Ability to work within a diverse team and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills

A high degree of professionalism and to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Critical thinking and analytical skills

Computer proficient with the capability of performing at an intermediate or advanced level with software tools including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other software programs such as Adobe, along with technologies for scheduling, travel and expense reporting and timekeeping.
Willingness to travel as needed.

What You'll Do:
Oversee multi-level workflows and processes in a dynamic environment

Manage and develop a team to effectively accomplish project goals and objectives while ensuring proper time management and productivity

Review, document, and report relevant financial transactions

Compile relevant internal & external reports including oversight, reconciliation, and resolution of related financial reporting issue

Maintain financial records and relevant reports in accordance with project compliance requirements.

Maintain and review accounting and program internal controls; documents and escalates any findings and makes recommendations for improvements, as needed.

Responsible for performing quality control review of funds disbursement activities.

Provide direction, training, guidance and oversight to department Staff and Senior consultants.

Review performance and provide coaching and addresses employee issues and concerns.

Provide thought leadership and strategic input for best practices, policies, and procedures related to funds disbursement and management.

Oversee all aspects of disbursements related to project administration, including check testing and printing, check reissues, electronic payment methods, Positive Pay exception resolution, data management with appropriate system of record, unclaimed funds bank reconciliations, and administrative payments.

Partner with internal tax professionals to oversee the execution and delivery of tax filings for federal, state and local authorities, TIN matching, 1099 processing, and monthly accounting procedures, as projects require.

Oversees activities and relationships with external process partner.
